Spinach

This week we have a lot of spinach. It is sweet and tender. Great raw or cooked. We like it in an omelet  with onions and garlic. We will harvest some Friday for the Santa Fe Farmers Market this Saturday as well as taking special orders for a custom box of produce and eggs. Also available: scallions, radishes, carrots, spring green garlic, arugula, chard, cilantro and chives.

Thanks for reading the blog and supporting small scale agriculture.

Spring Time at Revolution Farm

Revolution Farm in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains at 7,200 foot elevation. Growing food for the community.
The hens are laying about three dozen eggs a day now.

Radishes are just one spring crop we have coming in right now.

The big egg was a double yolker!
Seedlings getting a head start on the others we will direct seed soon.

D.I.Y. Greenhouse

All the lumber and windows were free. This whole project cost us less than $100.
Holding a window in place.

Planting Asparagus Crowns

Drying out the crowns after shipment.
Planting a bed of Jersey Supreme (2 yr. old crowns)

Alltogether we planted three beds of asparagus. Two beds of the larger, healthier looking Jersey Supreme, and one of Purple Passion.
